My Father Before Me by Norman Goodland
This is probably the only novel that has been written based in and around Baughurst.
It includes fascinating insights into what life was like in this area for a thatcher and his family at the turn of the 20th century.
Some of the village names are modified , but most people will recognise them.
The bit that struck me was that the family rang bells at St Stevens church and , as a treat , they wold walk to Whitchurch on a Sunday to ring the bells there and then walk home!
